Description	:	HALLIDAY — Donald Weidner, 72, Halliday, passed away on April 25, 2012, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday, April 28, at the Dodge Community Center, with Vernard Frederick officiating. Burial will follow at the Halliday City Cemetery. Read More	HALLIDAY — Donald Weidner, 72, Halliday, passed away on April 25, 2012, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday, April 28, at the Dodge Community Center, with Vernard Frederick officiating. Burial will follow at the Halliday City Cemetery. Donald was born on Feb. 9, 1940, in Richardton, to Herman and Emilie (Frei) Weidner. He grew up and attended school at Goodman Country School until the eighth-grade when he went home to help farm and ranch. When he was a young man, Don traveled to Texas and hauled cotton and did custom combining. He volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1958 and served two years in Germany, returning in 1960. He farmed for one year after returning and then worked for Northern Improvement while still farming on weekends. Don married Dianna Streifel on Nov. 28, 1970, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Halliday. They began to farm full time in 1972, north of Halliday. Don and Dianna raised their three wonderful children, Rhonda, Donald Jr., and DeNae on the farm. Don belonged to the North Dakota Stockmen's Association for many years, served as a council member for Three-point Lutheran Parish for many years and was a member of the American Legion. Ranching was his fun and his work. He was all cowboy and enjoyed breaking horses in his youth. He loved to spend time with his family. He would look after his children when they were small and Dianna had to work. Don is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dianna, Halliday; his children, Rhonda (Patrick) Packineau, Parshall, Donald Jr. (Nicole), Bismarck, and DeNae (fiance, Chris Rosborough), Beulah; eight grandchildren, KayCee, Cheyenne and Sheridyn Packineau, Cooper, Ava and Nora Weidner, Tyler and Garrett Rosborough; one sister, Bonnie (Vern) Frederick, Flasher; two brothers, Fred (Donna) Weidner and Alvin and Donna Weidner, both of Halliday; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Sarah; one brother, Daniel; and one brother-in-law, Mike Lewis.
