Read More	Westernport, MD Donald William Fink, 76, of Westernport, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 surrounded by his loving wife and family at Moran Manor Nursing Facility. Born June 23, 1935 in Westernport, MD, he was the son of the late Arnold W. Fink and Alice (Duckworth) Fink. Donald was also preceded in death by his sister Mary A. Fink. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Donald is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marguerite (Shillingburg) Fink, daughters; Donna Moore and husband Michael, Valencia, CA, Susie Wall, Westernport, whom Donald resided with for the last six years, Michelle Fink-Jenkins and husband Greg, Luke and Joyce Alexander and husband Mark, Westernport. He is survived by his grandchildren; Maranda Fink and fiancé Eric Mowbray, Travis Wall and friend Christina Galbraith, Stephen Zachary Hopkins and Jessica Spalding and husband Shawn. Donald is also survived by great-grandchildren; Baylee Mowbray, Remington Mowbray, Sienna Brow and Kambria Spalding, and brother-in-law, Wayne Shillinmgburg and wife Rita of Uniontown, PA. Donald had special friends that assisted his wife and Travis with his care, James (JT) Davis. Last but not least, Donald had many furry companions; the late Misser, LBJ, Jack, Sable, Max and Zeplin. Donald had several passions in his life, first and foremost before his first stroke was his family. When his daughters were young, their dad would take them on annual vacations up and down the east coast. He also enjoyed their boat and the lake front property on Deep Creek Lake. Donald also enjoyed deer hunting and later in his life auctions and also his former shops, Maranda's Card Shop and his Sunday shop at the Armory in Cumberland. Donald loved traveling, meeting people and talking. He was always available to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed his help. He was known to his children's friends as Kingsley and Doc Fink. He supported and ran the Westernport Swim Team in the 1970's. He was also the first Santa Claus in the local Christmas Parade. He helped to arrange the first annual parade and assisted in many organizational floats. He was one of the first drivers, then EMT, for the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad. He will be truly missed by his family. He celebrated his first day in heaven on Christmas Day 2011, what a glorious time it must have been. Special thanks go out to the staff at Moran Manor Nursing Center and Karen Evans who made Donald's passing easier for the family. Thank you to Ashley Short who sang to him as she fed him when he didn't eat well. Also, Thank you to Dr. Tan, Sandy Baker, Nurse Manager, Candie Swick, Alice Schartiger and many more who assisted in his care over the past three months. To Dr. Sunil Gupta and his nursing staff; thank you for all of your support and help in the care of Donald. Thank you to the staff at Allegany Health who assisted with his care for the past six years when he was required to be in rehabilitation. Thank you to Sheila and Vic, Joyce P., Deb Savage, Tina Turner, Sue Pryor, Nancy Walker and the rest of the GNA's that assisted in Donald's care. Also, those who do the grunt work and never get the thanks that were not mentioned, Thank you. It's folks like you all that made it easier throughout our dad and husbands illness. The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Wednesday, December 28th from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, December 29th at 1:30 PM, with Pastor Carl Cowan officiating. Interment will be in White Church Cemetery, near Oakland.
