Read More	Donald William Moler November 17, 1917 ~ February 26, 1977 Donald was born to David and Elizabeth Ann Moler in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. He and his family moved to O'Neill, Nebraska, and on October 15, 1940 this 22-year-old man walked into the the draft registration office in O'Neill. He told the clerk he was living in O'Neill, and that his mother was his nearest relative. The clerk noted that Donald was 5'8", weighed 145 lbs., had a ruddy complexion, brown hair and brown eyes, and that Donald had a scar on the back of his head. Donald enlisted in the US Army October 23, 1942, and was honorably discharged December 20, 1945. Family remembers that Donald was wounded in Okinawa during World War II, and that his unit was with heavy artillery. After he returned from the war, he worked for the US Post Office. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Patrick's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery, O'Neill. Survivors include his widow, Elizabeth, three sons, Donald Moler of Spencer, Nebraska; Russell of Kansa City, Missouri, and John of Amarillo, Texas; five daughters, Dorothy Murrey, Garden Prairie, Illinois; Virginia Molacek, Harvard, Illinois; Irene Sullivan, O'Neill, Nebraska, Mary Jane Beher of Atkinson, Nebraska, and Lavonne Appelby of O'Neill; one brother, John Moler of Wall, South Dakota. Note: Spelling of Moler varied from Moler, to Maler, to Moller.
