He passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Faith Regional Health Services West Campus, Norfolk, NE. at the age of 85 years, 2 months. Donavon graduated from Dow City High School, Dow City, IA. He passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Faith Regional Health Services West Campus, Norfolk, NE. at the age of 85 years, 2 months. Donavon graduated from Dow City High School, Dow City, IA. He married Donna Mae H. Namanny at Elk Point, SD on October 23, 1954. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Sioux City, IA where Donavon worked at Missouri Valley Steel Company for the next 45 years. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Hot Springs, AK where they lived for 10 years. They then moved to Waverly, NE for three years and had just moved to Norfolk, NE prior to his death. Donavon served in the U.S. Army, Korean War in February 7, 1951 to January 22, 1953 honorably discharged. Survivors include his wife, Donna Mae; two daughters, Cheryl and husband Rod Sherburne of Albion, NE and Gayle and husband Bob Shantz of Hornick, IA. one son, Rodney and wife Caren Weed of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, one brother Norman and wife Floy Weed of Tucson, AZ; one brother in-law, William and wife Audrey Namanny, four sisters in-law, Marcella and husband Melvin Petersen, Dorothy Namanny, Shirley Ahart and LaDene Hickey; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Weed, two brothers, Clarence Weed and Charles 'Bud' Weed and two sisters, Virginia Moeller and Jean Cross. Visitation~Monday, March 25, 2013 from 1-3 p.m. at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. 3:00 p.m. Memorial service with the Rev. Neil Wheeler officiating. Memorial Service - Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The Meadows in the Chapel in Norfolk, NE with Chaplain Edward Felgate officiating. Inurnment: graveside services Akron Cemetery, Albion, NE.
