Description	:	Donn Wayne Nelson, 61 years of age, of Holdrege (formerly of Loomis, Nebraska), passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Donn was born on December 13, 1949 at Holdrege, the eldest of two children born to Wayne E. and Naomi R. (Lehman) Nelson. Read More	Donn Wayne Nelson, 61 years of age, of Holdrege (formerly of Loomis, Nebraska), passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Donn was born on December 13, 1949 at Holdrege, the eldest of two children born to Wayne E. and Naomi R. (Lehman) Nelson. Donn received his education from Loomis Public School, graduating from the Loomis High School with the class of 1968. Donn then pursued higher education at Kearney State College, where he received his Bachelors Degree in Sociology in 1972. On September 19, 1975 he was united in marriage to Becky Sughroue and to this union daughters were born: Jessica Diane and Tessa Marie. The family made their home in Loomis, where Donn engaged in farming on the family farm and was a Seed Sales Representative for Pioneer and later in years for Channel Bio. Donn was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, past member of the Agri-Coop Board and volunteered for several years on the Loomis Volunteer Fire Department, where he also served as an EMT. Donn enjoyed hunting and fishing, Husker Football and Baseball, and most of all he loved to spend time on the road in his Corvette. Donn was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; sister, Karen Nelson in infancy; and grandparents: Frank E. and Ruth Nelson and August and Frieda Lehman. Donn leaves to mourn his passing daughters: Jessica Sundquist and her husband, Chris of Holdrege, Tessa Wells and her husband, Nate of Kearney, Nebraska; his mother, Naomi Nelson of Loomis; grandchildren: Zac and Carson Sundquist and Drew and Katie Wells; special friend, Ronda Sprague of Holdrege and her children; and a host of relatives and friends.
