Description	:	Donna B. Diffendal-Hake entered into God's loving embrace February 18. She was the daughter of Harvey L. and Mary (Cashman) Bankert, formerly of Union Mills, now of Hanover. A lifelong Carroll County resident, Donna was a 1961 graduate of Westminster High School. A year later she married her first husband, Thomas E. Diffendal, with whom they had two sons. After Tom's death in 1977, she went to work in various secretarial positions, notably T.R. O'Farrell's Insurance and Auctions in Westminster, and then for the customer service department of the Westminster Bank & Trust, until she retired in June of 1997. Donna... Read More	Donna B. Diffendal-Hake entered into God's loving embrace February 18. She was the daughter of Harvey L. and Mary (Cashman) Bankert, formerly of Union Mills, now of Hanover. A lifelong Carroll County resident, Donna was a 1961 graduate of Westminster High School. A year later she married her first husband, Thomas E. Diffendal, with whom they had two sons. After Tom's death in 1977, she went to work in various secretarial positions, notably T.R. O'Farrell's Insurance and Auctions in Westminster, and then for the customer service department of the Westminster Bank & Trust, until she retired in June of 1997. Donna remarried on July 15, 1989, to William C. Hake, formerly of Silver Spring. She was a devoted member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Westminster, serving on the altar committee, Sunday morning greeter, and Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of the Sunday singles, and enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, and helping others by volunteer work, both through her church and other organizations. She was an avid gardener and loved planting flowers, as well as collecting "Lady's Planter Heads", whale figures, and hat pins. She was the wife of 16 years to William and was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas E. Diffendal, in 1977, surviving William are sons T. Lee of Westminster, MD and Richard S. Diffendal of Uniontown, MD; sister Linda B. Myers of Littlestown; grandchildren, Leanna, Tommy, Grace, Erica, and Anna Diffendal; and nephews, Mike Myers of Westminster, MD and Mark Myers of Hanover, PA.
