Donna Bell Smith daughter of Merle Smith and Thelma (Hauptman) Smith was born on October 8, 1920, in rural Nemaha County, NE. Donna attended school in Julian, NE and graduated in 1938. She was united in marriage to Floyd Gale Goings on August 8, 1940 in Sidney, IA. Four children were born to this union. They raised their family in Auburn, She had worked for a time at the Danny Dare sewing factory in Auburn. Donna was a devoted wife loving mother and grandmother. Due to ill health she entered the Good Samaritan Society in Auburn, where she was a resident for nearly seventeen years. It is there that on Friday, February 10, 2012 she passed away having reached the age of 91 years, 4 months and 2 days. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her four children, Carol Ann Hartung of Canon City, CO; Larry G. Goings and wife Marie of Auburn, NE; LeRoy D. Goings and wife Dona of Auburn, NE; Tony R. Goings and wife Connie of Stella, NE; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one sister Fay Bell of Milford, NE; other relatives and friends.
