Description	:	Donna M. Gantenbein, 81, formerly of Abilene, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, in Ashdown, Ark. She was born March 29, 1927, in Manhattan, the daughter of Glenn E. and Hazel M. (Parks) Ward. She moved to Abilene as a child, attended the local schools and graduated from Abilene High School. She married Howard M. Stone on June 16, 1945, and they later divorced. On March 2, 1964, she married Don Gantenbein in York, Neb. They made their home in Abilene. She was a member of the Methodist Church and had worked for the Abilene Public Library. She was a member of the Methodist Church and had worked for the Abilene Public Library. Surviving are one daughter, Pam Milleson of Ashdown, Ark., two stepsons; Larry Gantenbein of Highlands, N. Carolina, and Ivan Gantenbein of Titusville, Fla; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and other relatives. Her husband preceded her in death in October 1989. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Dewain Brown. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at the Abilene Cemetery with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene. Friends may call until time of service.
