Born Feb. 11, 1942, in Hutchinson, she was the daughter of Alfred William and Frieda Viola Halling Yust. A longtime resident of Burdett, she was a cosmetologist, homemaker and harvester. She married James "Jim" M. Thompson on Dec. 18, 1960, in Burdett. He survives. Born Feb. 11, 1942, in Hutchinson, she was the daughter of Alfred William and Frieda Viola Halling Yust. A longtime resident of Burdett, she was a cosmetologist, homemaker and harvester. Mrs. Thompson was baptized in the Church of the Nazarene in Larned and later became active in the Faith Fellowship Church near Gray. Survivors include her husband, Jim Thompson; two sons, James Meredith and wife Eileen of Burdett and William Hensen and wife Paula of Hesston; a daughter, Desiree Linnea Simon and husband Tim of Morland; three sisters, Carol Bowlus, Virginia Brownlee and Phyllis Amend, all of Larned; a brother, Wayne Yust of North Branch, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Dustin and Mandi Thompson, Chantelle, Kylie and Jarrett Simon, and Grace, Caleb and Ethan Thompson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Faith Fellowship Church in Gray with Pastor Leroy Lyon presiding. Burial will be at the Browns Grove Cemetery in Burdett. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Morell Funeral Home in Larned. Memorials are requested to the Larned Church of the Nazarene or Faith Fellowship Church, all in care of the funeral home. Personal condolences may be left at www.morellfuneralhomellc.com.
