Description	:	WASHINGTON D.C. Donna Virginia Curd, of Washington D.C., died Thursday, August 9, 2007. She was born January 6, 1955, in Lynchburg. Donna graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1977. After studying independently under the renowned poet, D. Snodgrass, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Donna then earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas. Upon her return to Washington D.C., she worked as an editor of publications at the Association for Educational Research in America. Donna Virginia Curd, of Washington D.C., died Thursday, August 9, 2007. She was born January 6, 1955, in Lynchburg. Donna graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1977. After studying independently under the renowned poet, D. Snodgrass, at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Donna then earned a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas. Upon her return to Washington D.C., she worked as an editor of publications at the Association for Educational Research in America. During this time she continued to write poetry and published a novel. She retired on disability after undergoing treatment for a brain tumor in 1992, but continued to write. She was researching a novel when she entered Georgetown University Hospital in April. She finally succumbed on Thursday, August, 9, 2007, to pulmonary fibrosis secondary to the tumor treatment. Donna is survived by her mother, Eleanor Feagans Curd of Lynchburg and Washington D.C.; three brothers, Lewis H. Curd Jr. of Williamsburg, Richard F. Curd of Washington D.C. and Gregory W. Curd of Seal Bench, California; three nieces, Kendall Curd, Katherine Curd and Emily Curd; and one nephew, Tom Curd. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Reverend Dr. Doug Wigner officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at Diuguid Funeral Service and Crematory, 811 Wiggington Road. .Published in The News Virginian on August 13, 2007
