Description	:	Donovan L. Erickson of Ashley, N.D., shared his 75 years of life with many communities. He attended rural school in Minot, N.D., and then rural school in Carpio, N.D., where he graduated from high school. He continued his education by graduating with a Bachelors of Science degree in business from North Dakota State University in Fargo. He attended rural school in Minot, N.D., and then rural school in Carpio, N.D., where he graduated from high school. He continued his education by graduating with a Bachelors of Science degree in business from North Dakota State University in Fargo. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea in the early 1950s. After returning to the United States, he worked at Texas Instruments at Plano, Texas. He later moved and worked as a salesman at Sears in Minot and Grand Forks, N.D. In May 1974, he married Sally Wishek Lovell at the Lake Metigoshe Chapel at Lake Metigoshe, N.D. They moved to Ashley, N.D., and then to Mobridge where Donovan worked as a lumberyard manager. In the 1990s, he sold insurance in Owen, Wis. Once Donovan and his wife, Sally, retired, they spent their winters in Palm Springs, Calif. Donovan died on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center at Fargo, N.D. He was born June 10, 1933 in Plain Township, Renville County, rural Carpio, to Ernest and Astrid (Flatten) Erickson. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Rosehill Memorial Cemetery in Minot. Rev. Russell Rhoads will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted with Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley. Donovan is survived by his wife, Sally, of Ashley, N.D., one brother, Terry (Nancy) Erickson of Winter, Wis., two sisters, Kathy (Darrell) Block of Towner, N.D., and Sharon (Rod) Gillund of Crosby, N.D., five stepchildren and six step-grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Honorary urnbearers will be his six step-grandchildren. Mobridge Tribune June 25, 2008
