Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree. The Rev. Ann Rouse will officiate. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Mrs. Petru was born March 11, 1900, in Becker, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Rosabelle (Fountain) Leverton. She married George Petru September 22, 1922, in Becker. He preceded her in death in 1955. She graduated from Becker High School and then attended Business College in Minnesota. She worked for the Muscatine County Recorder's Office in Muscatine. She was a long time member of the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree, the American Legion Auxiliary, Rebekahs, Women's Relief Corp., City Farmerettes, and several other social club's. She liked to play cards. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Richard and Clifford; and five sisters, Rosabelle, Elsie, Olive, Martha and Violet.
