Nora Monroe was born in Burleigh county July 13, 1902, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Broderick Monroe. She received her education in schools of the state, graduating from Underwood high school, after which she taught school for a number of years. Read More	BISMARCK WOMAN SUCCUMBS SUNDAY Mrs. Nora Monroe Smith, wife of Robert J. Smith, 422 Twelfth St., Bismarck, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital. She had been ill three weeks. Nora Monroe was born in Burleigh county July 13, 1902, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Broderick Monroe. She received her education in schools of the state, graduating from Underwood high school, after which she taught school for a number of years. On Dec. 25, 1925, she was married to Mr. Smith at Underwood, and had made her residence in Bismarck since that time. A short time after coming to Bismarck she took a business course in the Capitol Commercial college here, upon completion of which she was engaged by the director of the college as an instructor. Mrs. Smith leaves her husband, three brothers, John Monroe of Bismarck, Burel and Philip Monroe of Wilton, and 10 sisters, Mrs. Chas. Borland, Hancock, Minn.; Mrs. Zetta Calkins and Mrs. P. E. Keys, Garrison; Mrs. Algina McColister, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. August Watts, Freeport, Ill.; Mrs. Nellie Anicher, Fessenden; Mrs. Chas. Finfrock, Youngstown, Pa.; and Mrs. Hildar Johnson, Mrs. Myrtle Hanson, and Miss Cora Monroe, all of Underwood, N. D. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Presbyterian church, Bismarck, Rev. G. W. Stewart of Mandan officiating. Six nephews of the deceased will be pallbearers, Harold and Clarence Calkins of Underwood, Clark and Clyde Monroe of Bismarck, and Earl and Donald Monroe of Wilton. Until time for the funeral the body will lie in state at Webb's funeral parlors. Burial is to be made in St. Mary's cemetery. **The Bismarck Tribune, Monday, February 27, 1933, Page 5.
