Description	:	My beloved wife, and our dear mother, Dora (Wiebe) Bartel, was born August 19, 1906, at Hochstadt, Man. Canada. At her age of 6 years, her parents with their family moved to Aberdeen, Sask. where they resided for two and one half years. They came back to settle in Kleefeld, Man. It was here where she received her education and also her girlhood years were spent in this locality. Read More	My beloved wife, and our dear mother, Dora (Wiebe) Bartel, was born August 19, 1906, at Hochstadt, Man. Canada. At her age of 6 years, her parents with their family moved to Aberdeen, Sask. where they resided for two and one half years. They came back to settle in Kleefeld, Man. It was here where she received her education and also her girlhood years were spent in this locality. At the early age of 15 years, she gave her heart to her Redeemer and upon the confession of her faith, she was baptized and accepted into the Church of God in Christ, (Mennonite) where she remained a faithful member to her end. On October 2, 1927 she was united in the bonds of holy matrimony with me, Peter I. Bartel, and the Lord has seen it fit to bless us with 25 years of married life. In this union we were blessed with 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters: Vernon, married to Violet Giesbrecht, Winnipeg; Leonard, employed by Red River Auto Carriers, Steinbach; Harry, Lawrence, Alice, and Rosie at home. During her lifetime mother was often sick and frequently expressed herself that her stay with her loved ones here on earth would not be long. Her ailment was high blood pressure and during the course of years it brought on heart complications. She had her first attack on April 19, in 1952, and after that her strength seemed to wane, where-upon a second one in August occurred, which aggravated her condition to a serious extent, Through God's mercy and loving kindness we were able to celebrate our Silver Anniversary on. Oct. 2, 1952. During the month of Dec. our mother spent 18 days in the Steinbach hospital. She was home for Christmas, but had to go back to the hospital again on Feb. 8, coming home on March 18. She was privileged to spend the Easter time with her loved ones at home. After this her condition grew worse again and she had to be taken back to the Steinbach hospital. This was the beginning of a long period of pain and suffering for our dear mother. Breathing conditions compelled her to spend much of her time in a sitting position. A paralytic stroke affected her speech so that it was difficult for her to speak, which also affected her clear thinking. Two days before her death she was taken to the T.B. clinic in Winnipeg due to the fact that the doctors suspected T. B. of the lungs. On June 7, at 4 o'clock in the morning, she was able to depart from this world, at the age of 46 years, 9 months, and 19 days. We do not mourn as such without hope, but know that mother has gone to that eternal rest, beyond the skies, where there will be no more anguish, suffering nor pain. During her life time, mother made many friends, also in the hospital, while her mind was yet clear she had a friendly handshake for all. She loved to sing, and many hearts have been uplifted through her voice in song. Also in her youth she was always ready and willing to sing and has done much to the growth of the Kleefeld Christian Endeavor. She was a loving mother in the home, showing a concern to be ready when the Master would call her; admonishing her children and loved ones, realizing more and more that "Narrow is the way that leads to that everlasting home." We as the family extend our heartiest thanks to the doctors, the hospital staff and all friends, who helped us in love during our mother's illness. Besides her husband and children she is also survived by her mother who since her paralytic stroke has been an invalid for 8 years, also one sister and three brothers. Her father preceded her in death 6 years ago. We also want to make special mention of sister Tina Doerksen who for over 22 years has been as a member in the family, faithfully rendering her services and sharing joys and sorrows with them.---Husband and Children Funeral services were held on Wed. June 10, in the Kleefeld meeting house, with Min. John I Penner officiating. Burial took place in the nearby cemetery.
