Description	:	Dorcas was the daughter of Samuel Patterson and Jane Means of Saco & Old Orchard Beach, York county, Maine. Dorcas was the 10th child of Samuel and Jane Patterson's 14 children. Dorcas moved with her family to Lovell-Sweden area in 1810 for better fertile farm land. Dorcas is the secord born generation of her Patterson family in the USA. Her grandfather Robert Patterson arrived in Saco, Maine from Castle Cunningham, Ulter, Ireland in the 1720s with his parents. Their orgin is Scotch-Irish (angelo-saxon). Dorcas moved with her family to Lovell-Sweden area in 1810 for better fertile farm land. Dorcas is the secord born generation of her Patterson family in the USA. Her grandfather Robert Patterson arrived in Saco, Maine from Castle Cunningham, Ulter, Ireland in the 1720s with his parents. Their orgin is Scotch-Irish (angelo-saxon). Her father Samuel (not to be confused with her husband) is buried in Lovell, Maine and was a Revolutionary War soldier. Dorcas came from a successful family and equally married into a successful family. She married Samuel Nevers Jr on 26 Nov 1826. Her life was filled with happiness until sickness and sadness in the 1840s, due to a TB outbreak in the region. The TB outbreak caused the death of three out of their five children, plus her own. Her husband Samuel Nevers Jr fell to the disease 10 years later. Dorcas family, the Patterson still have a large successful family farming business in Saco, Maine today (The Patterson Farm). The Pattersons were equally successful in Oxford county(Lovell area).
