Read More	80-Year-Old West Side Woman Dies Mrs. Doris Pahl Lived in Community For 50 Years West Side (Special): Mrs. Doris Pahl, 80 years old, a resident of West Side for fifty-five years, died at her home Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:30 o'clock. Mrs. Pahl has been in ill health for several years and death was attributed to complications brought on by her advanced age. She had been bedfast for about two weeks. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Evangelical Church, preceded by a short prayer service at the home at 2 o'clock. Rev. E. G. Otte, pastor of the church, will be in charge of the services. Mrs. Doris Pahl, née Dreesen, was born in Bruns Buttel, Germany, March 19, 1959, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilken Dreesen. At the age of twenty-one she came to the United States with her brother and sister and settled in Rock Island, Ill., where she was married to Rudolph Schwecke. To this union four children were born. These were Elizabeth Schwecke, Evers, Emma Schwecke Kruse, Carrie Schwecke and August Schwecke, all of who preceded their mother in death. August died at the age of two years. Following the death of Mr. Schwecke Mrs. Pahl and her family came to West Side in the year, 1894, and has since made West Side her home. In 1895 she was married to Henry Pahl. Two sons, Arthur and Alfred, were born. Alfred passed away at the age of six months. After the death of Mr. Pahl, Mrs. Pahl continued to live in the Pahl home with her son, Arthur, and his wife. Surviving are her son, Arthur, two stepsons, Harry and William Pahl, of Kennan, Wis., two step-daughters, Ella (Mrs. E. C. Mohr) and Clara (Mrs. Fred Mohr), of Preston, Ia. Two grandchildren, Mrs. Verdia Hanson of Manning and Arthur Pahl, Jr., and two brothers, Herman Dreesen of West Side and Henry Dreesen of Denison, and one sister, Mrs. Ed Gray, of Sioux City. Two sisters and one brother have preceded her in death, namely, Mrs. Louie Wollisen, (Matilda), Mrs. Tom Payson, (Kate), and John Dreesen.
