She was born on Aug. 15, 1924, in West Point, to Frank and Theresa Jacobsmeier Blind. On Oct. 3, 1953, Dorine married Alfred Kenel in West Point; he died on Dec. 10, 2003. She worked at Sheaffer Pen Co. and later as a medical technician at Burlington Medical Center. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. Survivors include one son, William (wife Joni) Kenel of Fort Madison; one granddaughter; three sisters, Francella Kottenstette of Lisbon, Mary Lou Hulsebus of Branson, Mo. and LeAnn Miller of Salem; two brothers, Robert Blind of Donnellson, and Francis Blindt of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and four brothers. A private family funeral service will be held. There will be no formal visitation or funeral. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A memorial has been established for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
