Description	:	Miss Doris Hirtle 1933 Bridgewater Bulletin The community was greatly shocked and saddened on Friday, February 3rd., by the sudden death of Doris Hirtle, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hirtle. The deceased met her death by a fall from a sled while coasting. She died almost instantly having sustained a broken neck. She was twelve years of age, and being of a happy disposition, was loved by all who knew her. The deceased met her death by a fall from a sled while coasting. She died almost instantly having sustained a broken neck. The funeral was held on Monday at 1 p.m.; there being a short service at the home, during which the hymn,"Sometime We'll Understand" was sung. The funeral service was held at the Union Church, Rev. Mr. Whitman officiating. The hymns sung were,"Asleep in Jesus," "Face to Face," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." At the cemetery, while the hymn "Sister, Thou Wert Mild and Lovely" was being sung, her teacher and schoolmates paid her a touching and beautiful tribute by dropping flowers in the open grave.
