Read More	Doris Aileen Weeks, 69, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee Valley, died Wednesday morning, May 12, 1999, at her home after a tough battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 25, 1929, at Miller, SD to Charles and Bertha M. (Ruston) Bennett. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Minnesota where she spent her early childhood. In 1940, the family moved to Wenatchee, where she graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1947. On Feb. 14, 1947, she married John (Bud) Weeks in a double wedding ceremony with Norm and Dixie Wallace at the First United Methodist Church of Wenatchee. They lived in Malaga for the first two years and Bud worked for Harold and Margaret Weed on their ranch. They then moved up to the Weeks family homestead in 1950, to run the family ranch until 1955, when the Washington State Parks Dept. bought the ranch and appointed Bud as the Park Ranger. They remained there until 1979 when they retired to raise cherries on their ranch. Doris worked as the office manager at Mission Ridge ski area from 1965 until retiring in 1981 to spend more time with their grandchildren (and almost never missed an event that they were involved with). She served a family dinner every Wednesday night up until one week ago. Doris was a member of the Squilchuck Service Club and attended the Squilchuck Community Church. Survivors include her husband, John (Bud) Weeks of the family home; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Ron Walter of Wenatchee, and Susan and Darby Roach of Seattle; her six grandchildren, J.B. Walter, Jenny Walter, Mitzi Walter, Brittney Roach, Annie Roach, and Maren Roach; her two sisters and their husbands, Mary and Hugh Newberry of Cashmere, and Fyrn and Carl Highfill of Wenatchee; her four brothers and their wives, Clarence and Jean Bennett of Arizona, Chuck and Ruth Bennett of East Wenatchee, Lawrence and Eleanor Bennett of Wenatchee, and Carl (C.D.) Bennett of Wenatchee; and she was a special "Auntie" and Grandma to many nieces and nephews, and other special kids. Funeral services will be held for Doris A. Weeks, on Friday, May 14, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Wenatchee with Pastor Bob Shepard officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee. If desired, memorials may be made in her name to the NCW Hospital Home Health/Hospice Program and/or the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones Funeral Directors of Wenatchee.
