Description	:	Doris Ann Daniels was born on September 8, 1931 on a family farm near West Union, Iowa to Clarence "Bert" and Winifred "Ruth" (Wilbur) Jellings. She graduated from West Union High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Albert "Earl" Daniels on March 5, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Read More	Doris Ann Daniels was born on September 8, 1931 on a family farm near West Union, Iowa to Clarence "Bert" and Winifred "Ruth" (Wilbur) Jellings. She graduated from West Union High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Albert "Earl" Daniels on March 5, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple managed the bowling alley in West Union for many years. In 1949, Earl's brother bought Spec's Diner with the help of Doris and Earl on the Fairgrounds in West Union. Doris and Earl helped run the business during summer evenings, weekly races and the weeklong fair week until the building was donated to the Fayette County Fairground in 1992. Doris worked in payroll and bookkeeping at Amana Refrigeration from 1965 to 1970 and Maquoketa Valley High School from 1971 to 1977. Doris also lived and worked in many other places in eastern Iowa, including Victor, Iowa, Delhi, Iowa, Morning Sun, Iowa and most recently Marion, Iowa. Doris passed away on May 24, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in West Union, Iowa. She enjoyed walking and crafts, including crocheting, knitting and sewing. She loved to travel to visit family and friends. Doris is survived by her four children, Dean Daniels of Marion, Iowa, Louise Stine of Dayton, Ohio, Joan (Virgil) Reth of Delhi, Iowa, and Deborah (David) Goff of Monticello, Iowa; a brother, Clarence (Lois) Jellings of Clinton, Iowa; a sister, Arleta (Don) Vandersee of Fayette, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, Courtney Daniels, Mic Stine, Matthew Stine, Mark Stine, Angie (Pat) Pokorney, Sandy (Cody) Miller, Jon (Tereasa) Reth, Dan (Amanda) Thomas and Heather Thomas; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Donald and Robert, and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union with the Rev. Galen Smith officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in West Union Cemetery. S.K. Rogers Funeral Home of West Union is in charge of arrangements.
