Description	:	Doris Ava Bentley, 84, of Chester, Maryland and formerly of Severna Park, Maryland died Aug. 15, 2007 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Mrs. Bentley was born Aug. 26, 1922 in Baltimore to the late George Tapman and Myrtle Knowles Tapman. She graduated from Eastern High School. After moving to Severna Park in 1967, she became the owner and operator of a Carvel Ice Cream Store in Glen Burnie from 1970 to 1990. Mrs. Bentley was born Aug. 26, 1922 in Baltimore to the late George Tapman and Myrtle Knowles Tapman. She graduated from Eastern High School. After moving to Severna Park in 1967, she became the owner and operator of a Carvel Ice Cream Store in Glen Burnie from 1970 to 1990. She was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church until 1999 when she moved to Chester. She joined the Immanuel United Methodist Church of Grasonville and was active in civic organizations on Kent Island. She enjoyed boating, traveling and card games and was an avid reader. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Bentley Dafnis of Grasonville; two step-granddaughters; and one sister, Elaine Hahn of Taneytown. She was married to Herman R. Bentley Jr. in 1944 who died in 1982. She was the sister of the late Charles Tapman.
