Doris Berniece Anderson was born March 31, 1916 in Whittier, Iowa. She was the daughter of Elmer and Hazel Bailey Anderson. On March 6, 1935 Byron and Doris Anderson were united in marriage in Marion, Iowa. Doris worked at home on the family farm. Byron and Doris loved to travel; they visited every state in the union. She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Olin were she was a member of the Ladies Aid, a Sunday school teacher, bible school teacher, a 4-H garden Leader. The couple moved to Anamosa in 1996 when they became members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She became a member of the Paint and Pallette club, Quilt club and several card clubs. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and crochet but the thing she treasured most was the time she got to spend with her family, especially following the grandchildren and their sporting events. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
