Mrs. Jennings was born in Union, SC on October 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Lawrence Blakley and Hazel Free Blakley. She retired from Uniblend spinners and was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church. Read More	UNION, SC - Mrs. Doris Blakley Jennings, age 78 of 629 Rice Avenue, Apartment 1A, Union, SC, widow of Al Jennings, died on Monday, February 26, 2007 at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Mrs. Jennings was born in Union, SC on October 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Lawrence Blakley and Hazel Free Blakley. She retired from Uniblend spinners and was a member of Ottaray Baptist Church. Survivors are two daughters, Christine Walton and husband Jerry and Clara Groves and husband Toney; a son, Al Jennings, Jr. and wife Trish all of Union; a grandson, Andy Jennings reared in the home; six additional grandchildren: Kenny Walton, Steve Walton, Sandy Sprouse, Mike Groves, Jeff Groves and Kevin Groves; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; thirteen step-great grandchildren; a sister, Lib Belue of Union; and special friends, Ruth Grubbs, Jackie Greene and Mildred Rodgers. Mrs. Jennings was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Kay Jennings; a son, Terry Jennings; a grandson, Chris Walton; and a brother J. W. Howell. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Ottaray Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jerry Lawson and Rev. Guy Langston. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Bevis, Jack Jennings, Clyde Jennings, Lecil Smith, Butch Foster, Ronnie Belue and Dean Bevis. The Ladies Sunday School Class of Ottaray Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM tonight at the S. R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
