For twelve years, she taught in the rural Tama Schools and then for twelve years at Dunham-Bush before owning her own craft shop in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa for another twelve years. On Sunday; June 26, 1988, she was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Dieken at Nashua; Chickasaw County, Iowa. They made their home in Lime Springs; Howard County, Iowa for fourteen years until moving to Marshalltown, Iowa in 2002. Doris enjoyed crafts of all kinds. Doris (Cory) Dieken, age: 83, passed away on Thursday; February 10, 2011 at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her sister: LaVon (Clyde) Vokoun of Montour; Tama County, Iowa; her nieces, nephews and a host of many friends. In death, she rejoined her parents: Rowe (1991), Vera (1990) and her husband: Ted on Tuesday; March 28, 2000. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 2:00 p.m. on Monday; February 14, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Memorial Gar dens Cemetery also in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials in Doris' name may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice quilt supply fund.
