Description	:	Doris was born at her grandparents home to Ralph & Ruby (Paris) Harlan Soon after she moved with her parents to a farm south of Sidney, NE and attended school in Lorenzo Public School all 12 years. In 1939 they moved to Sidney , where Doris attended Sidney High School as a post graduate student for one and half years. She then worked in her parent's grocery store and did housework for a family for a few years. Read More	Doris was born at her grandparents home to Ralph & Ruby (Paris) Harlan Soon after she moved with her parents to a farm south of Sidney, NE and attended school in Lorenzo Public School all 12 years. In 1939 they moved to Sidney , where Doris attended Sidney High School as a post graduate student for one and half years. She then worked in her parent's grocery store and did housework for a family for a few years. She then attended college in Minneapolis, MN and in Enid, OK, returning to Sidney, where she worked for Western Drug and the John Deere District Office. In 1959 she moved to Omaha and was employed by the J.I. Case Company. It was in Omaha that she found her way into professional baseball offices. She served as Secretary/Receptionist for the Los Angles Dodges minor league club and later moved to Albuquerque in the same position when the club moved there. In the fall of 1964 she moved to San Diego, CA to work for the San Diego Padres Major League Club. She was proud to be the one who suggested they use brown for their color, since original Padres would have worn brown home spun robes. They even had brown ribbons on their typewriters. In 1968 she returned to Sidney, working for KSID radio and the Sidney Telegraph. In 1979, her lifelong dream was realized when she entered Phillips Seminary in Enid, OK to study for the Ministry. She graduated with Maters Degree in 1982. She served churches in Avard, OK, Weeping Water, NE and Wilsonville, NE. Because of ill health she retired in 1991 and returned to Sidney. Being active in the Ministerial Association she often filled in when ministers in various church were out of town. She had standing in other denominations. Doris was proud to be a member of MENSA, an organization for people with high IQ and was a member of First Christian Church in Sidney serving in various positions through the years. She was an accomplished piano player and loved giving lessons. Doris loved watching baseball, especially the Colorado Rockies. Summer vacation with her sisters family included visiting almost every national parks.
