Description	:	Doris E. Shafto, 86, of Kearney, formerly of Pleasanton, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at St. John's Center in Kearney. Doris was born Aug. 13, 1924, near Pleasanton to Richard and Esther (Mowrey) Kreitzer. On March 16, 1945, she married Robert C. Shafto in California. Doris attended Peake rural school in Buffalo County. After her husband, Bob, was discharged from the service, they returned to the Pleasanton area where they farmed until retiring in 1982 and moving into Pleasanton. Doris was a member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and she was a Gold Star Sister. Doris was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
