Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Norfolk with the Rev. Cindi Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Ardith Zahnow and her husband, Art, of Grand Island, Gerald Timperley and his wife, Beth, of Blair, Duane Timperley and his wife, Barb, of Norfolk, Dennis Timperley and his wife, Debi, of Stanton, Dale Timperley and his wife, Leanna, of Santa Fe, N.M., and David Timperley and his wife, Cindy, of Lincoln. She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1941, attended Nebraska State Teachers College at Wayne State, received her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1948, did graduate work at Northwestern University and received her master's degree from the University of Denver in 1957. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Doris was a teacher in the Tilden and West Point Public Schools and in York and Columbus High Schools and taught library science at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she was also a librarian from 1957 to her retirement in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold and Irvin; and niece, Arlene Tighe. For her funeral service, the organist will be Betty Frank, congregational hymns will be "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," and casket bearers will be Dale Timperley, David Timperley, Dennis Timperley, Duane Timperley, Gerald Timperley, Art Zahnow and Todd Tighe. .
