Description	:	Born July 6, 1928 to William and Lenore (Kovarik) Patterson in Bottineau, North Dakota. She was raised on the family farm until her high school days and graduated from Souris High School in 1947. Later that year she married Robert Monkman. They had a son and two daughters. In 1978, she met the love of her life Kenny Finnegan and they were together for the next 43 years until her passing. She began her career in banking at a small bank in Souris, North Dakota. She was raised on the family farm until her high school days and graduated from Souris High School in 1947. Later that year she married Robert Monkman. They had a son and two daughters. In 1978, she met the love of her life Kenny Finnegan and they were together for the next 43 years until her passing. She began her career in banking at a small bank in Souris, North Dakota. Upon moving to Bellflower, California she continued her career and retired in 1992 in the capacity of Vice President of bank operations with Capital Bank. In 2003, she and Kenny moved to Alturas, California to make their forever home. Family was the most important thing in her life and we will treasure those memories. Always a classy dresser, it was unheard of for her to go anywhere without her makeup on and her clothes ironed. She was the ultimate cook, she never made just one pie, it had to be two. She knitted, crocheted and was an excellent seamstress. All of her children and grandchildren are the recipients of beautiful quilts that she made. She was an avid gardener, growing flowers and vegetables which she canned. She loved to dance, play cards, and of course Bingo. A lover of cats, she fed all the strays in the neighborhood. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Billy and her sister Helen. She is survived by her husband Kenny Finnegan, her two daughters, a sister, a brother, and five grandchildren. She passed away in Alturas, California, with her loved ones at her side. Her final resting place will be next to her parents in Souris, North Dakota. Donations to High Plateau Humane Society of Alturas, California, may be made in her name.
