Growing up in Wakefield, Doris attended local schools and graduated from Wakefield High School with the class of 1951. On June 17, 1954, she was married to Robert D. Schenck in Sioux City, Iowa. The early years of their married life was spent in Wakefield before moving to Abilene, Kansas in 1966 to co-own and operate the White House Motel and Restaurant. Growing up in Wakefield, Doris attended local schools and graduated from Wakefield High School with the class of 1951. On June 17, 1954, she was married to Robert D. Schenck in Sioux City, Iowa. She had also been employed by Abilene Family Physicians. Doris enjoyed quilting, church activities and raising African Violets. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and the End of the Trail Quilting Guild. Doris was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Domsch and Alice Brown. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, December 18th, at the Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Justin Panzer officiating. Interment will follow in the Abilene Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30 to 6:30 PM Wednesday, December 17th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Faith Lutheran Church.
