She was born March 13, 1919, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Julia Joseph Pence. Mrs. Mullins was a lifetime resident of this area and a former member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a present member of First Presbyterian Church. Read More	Doris Fae Mullins, 86, of Spotswood Trail in Harrisonburg, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient the past two weeks. She was born March 13, 1919, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Julia Joseph Pence. Mrs. Mullins was a lifetime resident of this area and a former member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a present member of First Presbyterian Church. She was the co-owner of Cloverleaf Laundry until her retirement, taught piano, and was a member of the Pilot's Club. Doris loved "get togethers", picnics, and being around her family. Her hobbies included her yard, gardening, traveling, flowers, and her grandchildren. To describe her in simple and loving terms, Doris was unique. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Courtland Leffel Sr. in 1976, and her second husband, Howard Henderson Mullins Jr. in 2003. She also was preceded by her brother, Eugene Franklin Pence. Surviving are two sons, Eugene C. Leffel Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Harrisonburg, and Larry Leffel of Mount Clinton; two daughters, Patricia Spencer and husband, John, of Williamsburg and Cheryl Ryan and husband, Carroll, of Timberville; one stepson, Howard H. Mullins III and wife, Missy, of Elkton; six grandchildren, Michael Spencer and wife, Linda, Christopher Spencer and wife, Susan, Eric Ryan and wife, Emily, Patrick Ryan, Shannon Leffel and Jaclyn Leffel, and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas Spencer, Joseph Spencer, Kristin Spencer, Michelle Spencer and Mia Rose Ryan. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church by Dr. John F. Sloop. Burial will follow in Woodbine Cemetery. Daily News-Record Harrisonburg, Va.
