Description	:	Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2 p. m. from the Lowry Chapel for Mrs. Doris Fogler Braughton, who died of cancer Wednesday morning of last week at the Sweet Grass Community hospital. Rev. Joseph LaDu of the First Congregational church officiated. Organist was Mrs. O. J. Paulson. Pallbearers were Jim Woolsey, Barney Warp, Jack Cooper, Stuart Moore, Charles Surface and Nat Clark. Interment was in Mountain View. Deceased was born Sept. 28, 1897, at Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Fogler. She came with her parents to Billings in 1907 and attended high school there. A She later attended Boston art schools for five years and a year at the Chicago Art Institute. She also spent five years in the employ of the General Electric Co., in Schenectady, N. Y., as an artist in the illuminating laboratory. Mrs. Braughton also found time to publish and illustrate a children's book, "Rusty Pete", in 1930, from which she continued to receive royalties. She returned to Montana, and was married to Virgil Braughton July 2, 1938, at Bozeman, she and her husband making their home at the Elk creek ranch. Mrs. Braughton took and "active interest and part in ranch life which was reflected, in her paintings. Besides the many paintings sold to local admirers and within the state, her paintings are hanging in homes from Maine, California, and in Denmark and Sweden. Few indeed are those who leave a lasting legacy of beauty for all to see and enjoy. Mrs. Braughton was one of those few. Surviving are her widower and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Buckland of Schenectady and Miss Frances Fogler of Annapolis, Md. Published Big Timber Pioneer Oct 13, 1966
