Description	:	Doris I. Speas, 94 years, of Ames, NE died Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home. Doris was born April 5, 1924 near Platte Center, NE to Otto and Lena(Eden)Janssen. She attended Platte County Schools and was a 1942 graduate of Columbus High School. Doris married Maynard "Ike" Speas on April 1, 1945 in Fremont. Maynard died December 8, 1997. Doris was born April 5, 1924 near Platte Center, NE to Otto and Lena(Eden)Janssen. She attended Platte County Schools and was a 1942 graduate of Columbus High School. Doris married Maynard "Ike" Speas on April 1, 1945 in Fremont. Maynard died December 8, 1997. Doris was a member of Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church, north of Fremont, the Naomi Circle and the church quilting group. She was a member of V.F.W. Post #854 Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 Auxiliary, both in Fremont. She enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling. She is survived by her 3 grandsons, Michael (Nicole Cooper) Speas of Mitchell, S.D., Troy (Jennifer) Speas of Valley, NE and Calvin Speas of Ames; 4 great grandchildren, Jackie, Heather, Cameron and Dalton Speas; and 3 great great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Lonny Speas; daughter-in-law, Karen Speas; 9 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral service will be 2 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Bluffs Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont. The Rev. Sean Tyler will officiate. Visitation on Friday from 11 AM to noon at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Burial at noon on Friday at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
