Description	:	Funeral service for Doris I Monson of Forest City was held Thurs day at Winnebago Lutheran Church in rural Lake Mills. The Rev. Henry Stolz officiated. Rolfe and Noel Holtan sang a duet during the service and Deb Nyhus was the organist. Casket bearers were Jay Knudtson, Paul Nelson, Michael Nelson, John Kingland, Jeff Nelson and Lowell Segerstrom. She was born Jan. 25, 1925 in Linden Township Winnebago County to Helmer and Elizabeth Range Myre. She attended rural school near her home and later moved with her family to Forest City where she graduated from high school. In1942, she moved to Omaha, Neb., where she worked for Martin Aircraft building B-29's. She returned to Forest City in 1946 and married Ruthford Monson Dec. 28, 1941 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple farmed 6 1/2 miles east of Forest City for their entire married lives. Mrs. Monson volunteered much time and energy to church affairs and various organizations at Win nebago Lutheran Church. She be longed to "0.A.0." (Our Afternoon Off) which gave Mrs. Monson and the neighborhood women a chance to get together once a month. She also enjoyed her neighborhood bridge club. Other special hobbies included gardening, crocheting, reading and being outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband. R. B. Monson; her children and their spouses , Craig and Teresa Monson of Forest City. Ardie and Dale Johnson of Minneapolis. Minn.. Murray and Donna Monson of Boone and Mark and Kay Monson of Ogilvie, Minn.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Myre of Sturgeon Lake, Minn.; and five sisters, Mrs. Orval (Elvina) Bowman of Forest City, Mrs. Howard (Evelyn) Pletcher of Alexandria. Minn.. Mrs. Esther Sitzler of Mesa. Ariz., Mrs. Fern Rollefson of Forest City and Mrs .Gladys Hagenson of Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son. Norman, who died in 1974.
