Description	:	Minden resident, 93 LINCOLN - Doris Irene Wilcox, 93, of Minden died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Country House Residence in Lincoln. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Minden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker and Lucky Schneberger officiating. Burial will be at Minden Cemetery before the memorial service. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Morrow and her husband, Gary, of Cozad, Sharon Nelson and her husband, Dan, of Holdrege and Sue Mahar and her husband, Bob, of Eagle; son, Larry Wilcox and his wife, Karen, of Minden; grandchildren, Debbie Miller and her husband, Scott, Mike Morrow and his wife, Shelly, Brad Morrow and his wife, Terri, Anngie Love and her husband, Rick, Marcie Tobler and her husband, Kent, Pam Barnes and her husband, Greg, Doug Wilcox and his wife, Chris, Matt Wilcox and his wife, Jeannie, Mendy Clark and her husband, Randy, and Abbey Spaulding and her husband, Kelly; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She grew up in the Norman area and attended Ziba School. She married Ray at the United Brethren Church in Upland. Doris had worked at Margaret's Café, By Way Inn Café, Farmer's Union Grocery and at Berndt's Pharmacy. Doris was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden since 1946. They were members of the Good Sam Camper Club and enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona for 27 years. They were members of the Snow Bird Club in Arizona. She was a member of the Jolly Workers Extension Club and was a volunteer with Special Olympics. Doris was an avid Husker fan, a great farm wife, enjoyed camping and was a fabulous cook. She was the matriarch of the family, and the children and grandchildren will always remember her flower and vegetable gardens and her zinnias, rhubarb pies and jams, pickled beets, watermelon pickles, canned peaches, fried chicken and skinny pancakes. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn; brother, Donald; and great-grandson, Justin Morrow. Published in Kearney Hub on August 29, 2013
