Description	:	Doris Joan (Lohmeier) Woebbecke was born on October 28, 1933 in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Leone Pool Lohmeier. She entered into her eternal home and the arms of Jesus April 28, 2016 at the age of 82. Doris grew up on a farm north of Pleasant Dale. She attended elementary school at District 66 and graduated from Pleasant Dale High School. Read More	Doris Joan (Lohmeier) Woebbecke was born on October 28, 1933 in Pleasant Dale, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Leone Pool Lohmeier. She entered into her eternal home and the arms of Jesus April 28, 2016 at the age of 82. Doris grew up on a farm north of Pleasant Dale. She attended elementary school at District 66 and graduated from Pleasant Dale High School. While waiting for her sweetheart to return from the Korean war, she worked at the Lincoln Journal Star Newspaper. Lawrence returned and they were married December 4, 1953, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pleasant Dale. They were married 59 years. To this marriage two children were born, Debra and Rodney. They lived on a farm in southeast Seward County where they raised crops and cattle. They traveled to Germany three times to see the original German farm and toured the country with cousins over there. Doris and Lawrence also traveled south during the winter months, exploring Florida, Texas, Arizona, California and the rest of the Gulf Coast, but settled on staying in the Rio Grande Valley for many years. There they met and developed close friendships with other Midwesterners. Every year they looked forward to finishing harvest and heading south to warmer weather. Doris was known for her baking, especially dinner rolls. Her grandchildren will miss these. She enjoyed listening to the Royals baseball games on the radio and for many years attended games every summer with a group of neighbors. She also enjoyed playing games, cards and listening to/watching sports. Survivors include her two children; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a baby due in July; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leone Lohmeier; husband, Lawrence Woebbecke; brother-in-law, Lloyd Woebbecke; and mother and father-in-law, Adolph and Anna Woebbecke. Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Living Word Lutheran Church in Seward. Interment in Faith Lutheran East Cemetery in rural Seward. Obituary information from The Milford Times.
