Doris died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Doris June Kringen was born June 20, 1929 to Bernt and Hulda (Hansen) Kringen on their family farm four miles west of Aberdeen. She attended country school for a short time until the family moved to Aberdeen, she then continued her education at Monroe School and graduated from Central High School in 1947. Doris and Orville Dahme were married on November 22, 1947 in Aberdeen, SD, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three daughters, Linda Ann, Donna Lynn, and Janet Lea. Doris was known for being the matriarch of her family. She was by Orville's side when he and his brothers started Dahme Construction, his hard work enabled her to be a full-time mother. Doris later worked a number of years for the Aberdeen School Food Service program. Doris was a very strong minded woman and her family could always count on her when they needed support. Doris very much enjoyed being with her family and friends. She could always be found enjoying coffee with different groups of friends, especially her special friend, Alice Stevens. Doris was a founding member of the U-GO-I-GO Whist Club that has lasted for 68 years. Doris was also a member of Sons of Norway and a lifetime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching Orville play softball in his younger years, playing cards, bowling, and taking trips to the casino with her family and friends. Doris had a very special bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always loved spending time with them. Grateful for having shared Doris' life are her husband, Orville Dahme; two daughters: Linda Ann Dahme and Janet Lea (Rick) Bergman; two granddaughters, Stacia (CJ) Willems and Janessa Bergman; two great-grandsons, Boyd and Brytt Willems; great-granddaughter, Brynne Willems; sister, Harriet Heupel; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Doris in death are her parents Bernt and Hulda Kringen; daughter, Donna Lynn Dahme; five brothers, Irvin Kringen, Maurice Kringen, Curtis Kringen, Wallace Kringen and Harris Kringen; and one sister, Florence Brick. - Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home
