Doris, the daughter of Vernon and Lennie (Koon) Pershall, was born on December 20, 1915 in Clyde. She grew up in Clyde and graduated from Mingo High School. Doris was united in marriage with John W. Orr on April 9, 1935 in Perry. They made their home in Newton for three years before moving to Baxter. Orr, 98, of Baxter, died on Monday, April 14, 2014, at Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter. Doris, the daughter of Vernon and Lennie (Koon) Pershall, was born on December 20, 1915 in Clyde. She grew up in Clyde and graduated from Mingo High School. Doris was united in marriage with John W. Orr on April 9, 1935 in Perry. They made their home in Newton for three years before moving to Baxter. Doris was a homemaker, farmer's wife, and worked at Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter and a card club. Following John's death in 1983, Doris enjoyed taking bus trips. She was also an avid reader and loved the outdoors, where she was able to name every tree, flower, and bird. Doris is survived by her son, John E. (Judy) Orr of Baxter; daughter, Bonnie Jo (Jerry) Loupee of Savannah, Georgia; her 6 grandchildren, Paul Loupee of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Colette (Dan) Kunkel of Baxter, Michelle (Jon) Northrup of Baxter, John (Julie) Loupee of Poole, Georgia, Christopher (Melany) Orr of Baxter, and Nicholle (Jeff) Funke of Alpharetta, Georgia; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sisters, Helen Bucklin, LaVon Hunter, Joyce Lester, and Mary Lou Freland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two brothers, Raymond and John Pershall; and two sisters, Bessie Patterson and Jean Milligan.
