Description	:	DORIS L. WIGGLESWORTH passed away after a sudden illness on January 12, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sylvester, Georgia, and grew up in Waycross, Georgia. Doris married her adoring and beloved husband, Ira Lester Wigglesworth, on July 2, 1939. They had a loving and happy marriage for 68 years. WIGGLESWORTH passed away after a sudden illness on January 12, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sylvester, Georgia, and grew up in Waycross, Georgia. Doris married her adoring and beloved husband, Ira Lester Wigglesworth, on July 2, 1939. They had a loving and happy marriage for 68 years. Lester was her best friend and their favorite pastime was working together in their beautiful yard. Doris is survived by her children: Lester Wigglesworth, Jr., Gainesville, and Dana W. and husband L. James "Jim" Dickson, Clearwater; three granddaughters and their husbands: Kimbel L. and William (Chip) Merlin, Jr., Kelly and Tom Ramirez and Melissa and Raf Leszczynski; and six adoring great-grandchildren who called her "Gigi". She is also survived by her loving brother Buddy, Chesapeake, VA, and sisters Thelma, Marietta, GA and Mildred, Macon, GA. Doris lived in Gainesville since 1946 and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church since the early 1950's. For over 40 years, she was a dedicated and caring volunteer for Shands AGH Auxilliary. She was employed by White Electric for 27 years as a devoted bookkeeper. Doris loved flowers and enjoyed planting and caring for her beautiful yard and garden. She was an avid Gator basketball fan and never missed a home game. The back-to-back Gator championships were a highlight for her as she so loved her Gators. She was a loving, caring, supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was so loved by her family. She was a dedicated and dear friend to many, was always there for anyone who needed her tender care and friendship, had a giving spirit, and always helped those in need. She lived a quiet and "ordinary" life but was extraordinary and so special to all who knew her. Anyone who knew her fell in love with her lovely face, kind and loving spirit and wonderful passion. She was especially loved by her precious husband, Lester, and son and daughter who will greatly miss her and loved her so very much. A visitation will take place on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00pm at Milam Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 11:00am at Wesley United Methodist Church, 826 NW 23rd Blvd. Gainesville. Burial will be private at Forest Meadows East Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to: Wesley United Methodist Church in her honor.
