Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Henry, SD, with Father Daniel Smith as celebrant. Music will be provided by Pam Rorvick accompanied by Dorothy Fuller. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with a scripture service at 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Doris Lee Coyle was born June 2, 1919 to Chester and Orpha (Reiter) Zugschwerdt on a farm near Garden City, South Dakota. She attended grade school at North Graceland and graduated from Henry High School in 1937. She married Vernon Coyle on November 15, 1941 and they had three children, Rita, Sandra and Steven. They lived in the communities of Redfield, SD, and Minot, ND and then moved to Henry in 1952. Doris operated the cream station for five years and then owned and operated Coyle's Grocery for 26 years. Doris was then a substitute mail carrier for eight years and retired in 1986. She moved to Sunchase in Watertown in 2006. Doris was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church, St. Andrew's Circle and Henry Sr. Citizens. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Her favorite past-time was embroidering dish towels, dancing, playing cards and crossword puzzles. Doris is survived by her children, Rita Krentz of Bassett, NE, Sandra Hoftiezer and her fiance', Harlan Stevenson, and Steven (Bernie) Coyle all of Watertown, SD; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Calvin Schoepp of Henry; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Lola (Lloyd) Alexander and Lois Schoepp, and her sons-in-law, Veryl Hoftiezer and Wayne Krentz.
