Doris Loraine Walker was born on February 27, 1931, in Blairsburg, Iowa, to R. Verne and M. Harriet (Germer) Walker. She attended elementary school in Colfax and graduated from Boone High School. Later, Doris received her LPN license at the Boone Jr. College. On July 15, 1947, Doris married Dean Lee in Jefferson. The couple raised three daughters in Boone. Verne and M. Harriet (Germer) Walker. She attended elementary school in Colfax and graduated from Boone High School. Later, Doris received her LPN license at the Boone Jr. College. On July 15, 1947, Doris married Dean Lee in Jefferson. The couple raised three daughters in Boone. Doris and Dean retired to Whitten, Iowa where they lived until Dean's death in 1993. In later years, Doris lived in Marshalltown and Worthington before moving to Rochester. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Group and the VFW Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed sewing, painting, crosswords, and crocheting. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Dorothy Reed, a brother, Don Walker, a grandson Scott Wineinger and a great granddaughter Brittnie Droste. She is survived by three daughters: Marsha Lee of Worthington, Shelley (James) Droste of Worthington, and Margaret (Mark) Helm of Rochester, MN; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother Ted (Bonnie) Walker of Boone; and three sisters Donna Arringdale of Marshalltown, Bertha (Joe) Arnold of State Center, and Judith (Morry) Shirk of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
