(Fetter) Moss, 80, of Logan died on Monday,July 9, 2007 at Westmont Care Center in Logan. Doris was born on February 26, 1927 in Moorhead, to Burt (Burl) and Anna (McHugh) Shaffer, the fourth child in family of five. Doris lived on a farm until 1944. She started first grade at a country school in 1932 in Pisgah, Iowa. The last part of the third grade the family moved near Logan. Doris attended fifth grade through the eighth grade in Persia along with the first three years of high school. She graduated from Woodbine High School in 1944. After graduation, Doris lived near Logan and worked in the cafes in Logan. She met her husband-to-be, Arthur Fetter, while she was employed at the J & M Café. They were married in 1946 and to this union three sons were born. Doris worked in home until 1967 when she started working as a nurse's aid at a nursing home. Beginning that fall, she attended Iowa Western College in Council Bluffs in the Practical Nursing Program, at the age of 40. She graduated in 1968 and started working in Missouri Valley then in Blair. Doris worked at Bethany Nursing Home in Council Bluffs for twenty-five years. She enjoyed her work, needlework and maintaining her home. Arthur passed away in 1972 and Doris was married to Lester Moss from 1974 until his death in 1989. Survivors include her sons: Donald Reid Fetter and wife Colleen of Logan; Gary Arthur Fetter and friend Kim Korth of Columbus, Neb.; Richard Lynn Fetter and wife Toni of Council Bluffs; step-son: Lyle Moss and wife Sharolyn of Logan; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; to step-great-grandchildren; brother: Lawrence Shaffer and wife Myrna of Woodbine; sister: Nadine Gagne and husband Ferd of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sister Arleen, brother Leo, granddaughter Shawna. Memorials may be given to the local library, the swimming pool or the rescue department. Final resting place was in Logan Cemetery, Logan, Iowa.
