Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at O-Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. Dean Pofahl officating.Burial will be at Riverdale Cemetery. She was raised in Elm Creek and was a 1952 graduate of Elm Creek High School. On Jan. 1, 1952, Doris was united in marriage to Donald Furby. The couple lived in Shelton before moving to Amherst in 1978. Doris was a longtime employee of Baldwin Filters, retiring after 32 years of employment. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, visiting with people and playing cards with the HOP Club and taking care of her house plants. She was a longtime member of the Rolling Eagles Camping Club. Left to cherish her memory are her children Elaine Gould and husband Larry of Kearney, Debra Patsios of Dannebrog, David Furby and wife Kathy of Amherst and Terry Furby and wife Annette of Riverdale; eight grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren; sister Mary Hall of Kearney; and sister-in-law Phyllis Rasmussen of Kearney. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 brother and 5 sisters.
