Description	:	Doris Surrell, 93, of Hettinger, ND, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Western Horizon's Care Center in Hettinger. Doris Maebelle Jones was born in Macomb, IL, on February 25, 1918. She was the youngest child of Ira and Pearle Jones. She attended school in Argonne Township and graduated from Dickinson Teachers College. Doris taught school in Bucyrus, ND, for several years until marrying Vincent "Bud" Surrell on July 3, 1942, in Sidney, MT. Read More	Doris Surrell, 93, of Hettinger, ND, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Western Horizon's Care Center in Hettinger. Doris Maebelle Jones was born in Macomb, IL, on February 25, 1918. She was the youngest child of Ira and Pearle Jones. She attended school in Argonne Township and graduated from Dickinson Teachers College. Doris taught school in Bucyrus, ND, for several years until marrying Vincent "Bud" Surrell on July 3, 1942, in Sidney, MT. After their honeymoon trip to the Mandan Rodeo, they returned to the Surrell family farm which they operated until Bud's ill health forced them to sell and move into Hettinger, ND, in 1984. Bud died in 1992 after being ill for many years, but was able to realize his wish to remain in their home, which was only possible through the loving care of Doris. The tireless care she provided to him was immeasurable and we cant thank mom enough for her selfless efforts. Doris entered the Western Horizon's Care Center in Hettinger, ND, in 2006 and has resided there since. Doris is survived by her six children, Coleen (Dan) Schmidt, of Rapid City, SD, Cleo (Dean) Klein, of New England, ND, Larry (Joanna) Surrell, of Spearfish, SD, Claudia (Bill) Riedinger, of Bismarck, ND, LaVonne (Steve) Wold, of Lead, SD, and Linda (Wayne) Sebunia, of Aurora, MN; as well as her 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Doris was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two grandchildren, Travis Sebunia and Sandee (Schmidt) Esquivel; and all of her seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be on Monday, June 6, at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at the Hettinger Lutheran Church. Rev. Kathleen Dettmann will officiate, and burial will follow at the Hettinger Cemetery. Rev.
