Description	:	TAYLOR, Doris O. Died March 12, 2008, two-months shy of her 95th birthday. Doris was raised by her mother, Tacy Elliott, in Rosalie, Neb. Doris and her husband, James Taylor (Miami Professor Emeriti) moved to the Oxford Community in 1953. They purchased a farm in Oxford Township which she proudly put into the Three Valley Conservation Trust. She was an accomplished classical pianist and also a social studies teacher at Stewart Junior High School. Died March 12, 2008, two-months shy of her 95th birthday. Doris was raised by her mother, Tacy Elliott, in Rosalie, Neb. Taylor, Jr. (Susan), her big sister, Leone, her beloved nieces; Pat, Sharon, Carol and Karyl and her grandchildren; Jenny Gelber (Keith), Jon Taylor (Anne), Geoffrey Taylor and Steven Taylor. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her cooking colleague and confidant, Diane Owen Anderson and her second family, the Woodland Country Manor Staff. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tacy, her husband, James and her brother, Ellis. Doris had the distinction of being a member of P.E.O. for over 50 years. Donations may be made in her memory to: the P.E.O. Ohio Scholarship Fund (Ms. Jane Kelly, 501 Sandra Dr., Oxford, OH, 45056), the NAACP Scholarship Fund (Ms. Laura White, 205 Country Club Dr., Oxford, OH, 45056), or Woodland Country Manor, the Doris Taylor Memorial Library (4166 Somerville Rd., Somerville, OH, 45064). Funeral services will be held at 3:00p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00p.m. Private burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Condolences may be made at smithoglefuneralhome.com.
