Doris passed with the same quiet dignity which characterized her life. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012. Interment will follow at Mitchell City Cemetery. The only child of L.B. and Mabel (Barnes) Richardson, Doris was born in Osceola, Iowa, on May 21, 1926. The family moved to Mitchell in 1939. Shortly after graduating with the Class of '44, Doris married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Dale Settles. To this 68-year union were born four children who were Doris's pride and joy. Doris and Dale spent their working careers together building their business, Settles Plumbing and Heating. In addition to her husband, Dale, Doris is survived by her son, Steve, and her daughters and their spouses, Margaret and Bob Lashley, Colleen and Allen Fegler, and Shirley and Larry Blehm. "Grandma Doris" is also survived by Scot (Stephanie), Kraig (Jill), Joel (Krista), Kristen, Brian (Gina), and Jenny (Matt). She was proud to be Great Grandma to Addison, Maddison, Kylie, Colton, Kaylee, Penelope, Eleanor, Elliot, Tayler, Shayleigh, Taytom, Tristen, Lindsey, Lauren, and Olivia. Doris's survivors also include her "siblings-in-law": Bonnie, Donna, J.D., Janice, and Alta as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She has one living cousin, Virginia Leeson and her daughter, Kathy, of Osceola, IA.
