Born June 26, 1925, in Middletown, she was a daughter of the late Ira Daniel and Zorah Lighter Ifert. Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, William Scott, and her second husband, Richard A. Beachley. She was formerly employed with Granger's Mutual Insurance Co. in Middletown and she and her husband had owned and operated Beachley's Restaurant in Middletown. Born June 26, 1925, in Middletown, she was a daughter of the late Ira Daniel and Zorah Lighter Ifert. Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, William Scott, and her second husband, Richard A. Beachley. She was formerly employed with Granger's Mutual Insurance Co. in Middletown and she and her husband had owned and operated Beachley's Restaurant in Middletown. Doris retired as chief deputy clerk at the Clerk of the Circuit Court's Office in Frederick. She was past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Middletown, past president and member of the Zonta Club in Frederick and a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau. Doris is survived by two daughters, Nancy A. Stroup and husband Gilbert of Myersville, and Jeanne Palmer and husband Bernard of Middletown; four grandchildren, Timothy Hedges and wife Tammy of Hagerstown, Cheryl Resor and husband Bob of Austin, Texas, Lisa Cyr and husband John of Frederick, and Lori Stroup and fiancee David Riggleman of Williamsport; three great-grandchildren, William and Katherine Hedges and Jarrett Cyr; one sister, Ruth Ellen Burrier and husband John of Middletown; one brother, David Ifert and wife Doris of Jefferson; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Ahalt, Miriam Guyton, Virginia House and Helen Slifer, and four brothers, Charles Ifert, Merhl Ifert, Page Ifert and Lee Ifert. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Middletown. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Garden, 107 W.
