Description	:	Doris Virginia Kemp, 87, of 310 N. Bank St., Luray, died on Friday, May 25, 2012. She was born on Sept. 3, 1924, in Rileyville and was a daughter of the late Daniel Sims Abbott and Edith Lorrine Abbott Somers. Mrs. Kemp was a member of the Luray United Methodist Church and the T.M. Club. She always had a passion for gardening. On Nov. 19, 1942, she married Harry Loring Kemp, who died on Dec. 29, 2004. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Kemp Leake and husband Roy Leake of Luray, and Mary Lou Worthington and husband Charles Worthington of Winchester; a brother, Daniel Harvey Abbott of Rileyville; a sister, Mildred Pauline Abbott Robinson of Bridgewater; a granddaughter, Ashley Nelson and husband Ben Nelson of Allen, Texas; a grandson, Chad Worthington and wife Courtney Worthington of Rockville; and four great-grandchildren, Pierce and Macie Nelson of Allen, Texas, and Bryson and Colston Worthington of Rockville. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances Margaret Abbott, Polly A. Somers, Lucille Winford Abbott Bruce and Dorothy Irene Abbott. A funeral service was conducted on Monday, May 28, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Erich Bennett. Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
