Description	:	Married Fred R. Kock on May 23, 1939 at Lennox.∼Dorothea Ilene Richter was born on September 3, 1917 the daughter of Daniel F. and Wilhelmina (Kortemeyer) Richter. She attended Lennox Public School, graduating from Lennox High School in 1935. That same year her father passed away, leaving her to help her mother and brother with the family farm. On May 23, 1939 she was united in marriage to Fred R. Kock at the Second Reformed Church, Lennox. Kock on May 23, 1939 at Lennox.∼Dorothea Ilene Richter was born on September 3, 1917 the daughter of Daniel F. and Wilhelmina (Kortemeyer) Richter. She attended Lennox Public School, graduating from Lennox High School in 1935. That same year her father passed away, leaving her to help her mother and brother with the family farm. On May 23, 1939 she was united in marriage to Fred R. Kock at the Second Reformed Church, Lennox. Following their marriage, the couple had a dairy farm just a mile and half away from where she grew up. Three children were born to this union. Fred died on June 4, 1977. Dorothea remained on the farm until moving into Lennox in 1984. Dorothea was a devoted wife and mother who worked right beside her husband on the farm. Her faith and family were her priorities. She will be remembered for quiet gentle ways, her faith and prayers for her family, love of cooking and serving coffee to all who entered her home. She was an active member of Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and belonged to Women’s Circle and Joy Group. She loved southern gospel quartet music and quilting. She was active in the Lennox Senior Citizen’s. Besides her parents and husband, Dorothea was preceded in death by her step father, Henry Smit, siblings: Myrtle (Arthur) Roskens and Donald (Elbertha) Richter; daughter-in-law, M. Jean Woods-Kock. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Pat Boelman, Sioux Falls, son, Dan Kock, Sioux Falls, his children: Erin (Mark) Szabo, Danielle (Sean) Erkonen and Jesse Kock, son, Kevin (Mary) Kock, Lake City, FL; great-grandchildren: Eliana Szabo and Weston Kock; special niece, Ardis Fischer, special friends: Rosella Oltmanns, Rose Haan and LaVonne Sinning and a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank everyone who assisted Mom to stay in her home.
