Description	:	Thanks to contributor #48796369 Dorothee J. Evans, 89, of San Marcos, Calif., formerly of Plainview and Bloomfield, died March 22, 2002, at Tri County Medical Center in San Marcos. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview. The Rev. Max Nelson of the Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery north of Plainview. Mrs. Evans was born June 28, 1912, at Crofton to Frank and Golda Holder. She married Fae A. Evans in 1931. The couple lived in several Nebraska towns and in Iowa. In 1966, her hometown was Modesto, Calif., until July 2000, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Fallbrook, Calif. She became a resident of Silvergaze San Marcos Alzheimer's Unit in San Marcos from February 2001 until March 17, 2002, when she entered the hospital on March 18. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, watering her rose garden, her miniature poodle and watching TV. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Alvin and Sharon Desterhaft of Fallbrook, Calif., and FaeneAnn Evans of Grand Island; a son, Jerald A. Evans of Portola Valley, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister-in-law, Irene Ashburn. The Grand Independent, Mar. 29, 2002
