Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Ponca, NE with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Obert Cemetery in Obert, NE. Condolences may posted online at www.mohrfuneralhome.com. Dorothy was born December 14, 1929 in rural St. Helena, NE, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Schmidt) Heger. She grew up in Obert and attended school in Obert. She married Sherman A. (Shine) Jensen. The couple lived in Laurel before moving to Ponca. Dorothy worked as a seamstress for Bohan Upholstery in Sioux City, IA. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ponca, NE and the Ponca American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working in her yard, walking and fishing. Survivors include her son, David (Jackie); daughter, Kathy Bookwalter; son, Rick (Helen); brother, Ralph; sister, Alvina; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Sherman A. Jensen; brothers, Clarence, Leonard, Clyde and Jim; and sisters, Irene and Deloris. - Mohr Funeral Home
